Government has undertaken to improve living conditions and broaden economic opportunities in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality following appeals by residents to President Cyril Ramaphosa and members of the national and provincial executive and local government leadership.

Current and planned interventions to achieve social and economic upliftment range from expanded support for small businesses and security of tenure for people living and working on farms, to repairs to major roadways that serve as economic arteries and intensified efforts to spare communities from crime.

Government Communication and Information system (GCIS) calls on members of the media wishing to cover the District Development Model (DDM) Presidential Imbizo scheduled for the 23rd of August 2024 to apply for accreditation.

The DDM Presidential Imbizo will take place at Tsakane Stadium, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, Gauteng Province.

Government joins the nation in mourning the passing of Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule, a stalwart in the gospel music industry and a beloved radio personality. Deepest condolences are extended to the Mbokazi and Nkambule families, as well as her Ukhozi FM family during this difficult time.

Government strongly condemns the heinous acts of violence against women, which continue to plague communities. This abhorrent abuse of the elderly and the continued scourge of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) in the country will not be tolerated.
