The Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) cordially invites you to participate in the Africa Communications Week is a week-long series of events in 20 countries across Africa. It will take place from 23 to 27 May 2022 under the theme: “Ahead of the Curve: What’s Next for Comms in Africa?”

“It is an opportunity to promote African Unity and deeper integration and recommit Africa to a shared destiny,” said the Minister in The Presidency, Mondli Gungubele, at the post Cabinet briefing.

Government puts into context disaster funds

Government notes media reports on an allegation made by the Democratic Alliance at press briefing that the National Treasury has refused to release funds to be used for disaster relief by KwaZulu-Natal provincial government. The allegations levelled against the National Treasury is mischievous and unwarranted at a time when government and society are putting in all efforts to rebuild their lives of those affected by the floods and their livelihoods.

Members of media who have successfully applied for accreditation to cover the Presidential Imbizo in Carolina, Mpumalanga Province are advised to collect accreditation. The Imbizo is scheduled to take place on Friday, 20 May 2022 at Silobela Stadium, Carolina in the Mpumalanga Province.

Accreditation for the media will be issued as follows:

Media briefing on the progress of the implementation of Operation Vulindlela: 13 May
