Government is committed to deal with challenges of crime, safety and substance abuse

The security cluster will make immediate intervention to deal with issues of drug lords and unregistered guns in community of Booysen, Port Elizabeth.
This was the commitment made by Minister of Police, Nathi Nhleko during a Justice, Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS) community outreach programme to Booysen Park in Port Elizabeth.

The Chairperson of the Justice, Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS), Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa–Nqakula will lead a delegation of Ministers and Deputy Ministers on a Community Outreach and Imbizo Programme to Port Elizabeth on 22 February 2016.

The visit will be undertaken under the theme “Taking Government to the People”.

The purpose of the outreach programme is to engage directly with community members and stakeholders.

Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) will host a SADC workshop on Friday, 19 February 2015 in Auckland Park.

The objective of the workshop is to deliberate and strategies on the SADC Media Awards 2016. The awards aim to recognize excellence in journalism in the area of print, photojournalism, television and radio as well as to encourage media practitioners in member states to cover issues pertaining to the region for the promotion of regional integration and cooperation.
