Acting Minister of Communications, Mosebenzi Zwane will on Monday, 4 April 2016 officially launch the fourth National Imbizo Focus Week under the theme “Together we move South Africa Forward “at Ga-Seleka, in Lephalale, Limpopo Province.

The Focus Week is a platform for communities to engage and interact with senior government officials. The main focus will be on the Nine Point Plan which aims to grow the South Africa economy.

South African government will embark on the National Imbizo Focus Week under the theme “Together we move South Africa forward”. Izimbizo are two-way, unmediated and interactive information sharing platforms, a dialogue between government and people aimed at instilling confidence in robust, participatory democracy.

Minister of Communications, will lead the opening of the National Imbizo Focus Week on the 04th of April 2016 at Lephalale, Ga Seleka Community hall in Limpopo Province. The focus week will run up until Sunday, 10th April 2016.

Government is saddened by the death of 2 people and hospitalisation of 32 people after they consumed an unidentified drug at a party in KwaMashu on Friday, 18 March 2016. The students took a drug known in the street as "data" or "umgwinyo", which had been passed around at the party.

1. Key Cabinet decisions

1.1. Cabinet assessed the Third Quarter Outcomes Progress Reports for the period October to December 2015. The reports show significant progress in the implementation of government programmes that have a direct impact on improving the lives of South Africans.

In line with the 2016 State of the Nation Address (SONA) pronouncements and government priorities, the Deputy Minister of Communications, Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams (MP) will lead a post SoNA Information Seminar in the Camdeboo Local Municipality, Graaf Reinet. 

The Post SONA Information Seminar affords Government the opportunity to engage and reflect on service delivery, plans, milestones and challenges to date as part of ongoing feedback to communities.
