IMTT on North West meet to discuss progress on the intervention

The Inter-Ministerial Task Team (IMTT) under the Chairpersonship of the Minister in The Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, met together with the Premier, members of the North West EXCO, and Administrators on Friday, 23 November in Pretoria, to assess the work that has been done to implement the North West Intervention since its inception.

Government hosts Africa-China Photography Competition, 28 Nov

On Thursday, 28 November 2018, China Plus, Global Max Media Group (GMMG), Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) and CNBC Africa will host the Africa - China Photography Competition.

The competition is to provide recognition and award winners for images that depict Africa-China relations, from regional cultures and travel photography to commercial or any photojournalism work.

Government welcomes serial rapist sentencing

Government welcomes the sentence of 208 years imposed by the Bisho High Court on a serial rapist who for years stalked and preyed on young women and schoolgirls in Mdantsane and East London.

Luvuyo Malawana Mananga from NU16 Mdantsane, was found guilty by the Bhisho High court earlier this month for a spree of crimes between 2007 and 2011, including eleven rapes.

Government welcomes Baby X mom sentencing

Government welcomes the 20 year sentence imposed on the mother who murdered her child who became known to the media as Baby X in 2014.

The mother has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

The court found that the 35-year-old woman had murdered her three-year-old daughter, who had endured being beaten, starved, burnt with cigarettes, had chilli powder put in her nappy and tied to a bed at night.
