All media are invited to the opening of the George Multi-Purpose Community Centre (MPCC) in the Western Cape Province. The Western Cape Department of Social Services has invested R 5 million via the George Municipality for the construction of the MPCC. The centre has been in operation since August last year.
An MPCC is a one-stop centre where local, provincial and national government, as well as other services are provided and relevant information to local communities.

Government holds awards ceremony in honour of communicators
The Minister in the Presidency, Dr Essop Pahad will, on behalf of the South African government, honour government communicators at the inaugural Government Communicators Awards (GCA) ceremony. The awards will recognise communicators who have shown improved delivery, innovation and excellence in government communication.
