Government to hold Cluster media briefings: 30 June - 7 July

Government will hold cluster media briefings on the implementation of the Government Programme of Action for 2008, in Pretoria from 30 June to 7 July 2008.

This will be the second cycle of media briefings for the year since the announcement of the programme through the State of the Nation Address.

The briefings will take place at the Union Buildings, Rooms 153 and 159. There will be a video link-up with Cape Town's Imbizo Media Centre, 120 Plein Street, Cape Town.

Nqakula to release crime statistics: 30 June


27 June 2008

Government will on Monday, 30 June 2008, release crime statistics for the period 1 April 2007 to 31 March 2008.

The briefing will include a number of presentations by police senior management, with the Minister of Safety and Security briefing the media after the presentations.

Minister Nqakula will also use this opportunity to brief the media on the Justice and Crime Prevention Security Cluster Programme of Action.

Visit by directors-general of JCPS Cluster to Western Cape: 5 August


30 July 2008

Directors-General of the JCPS cluster will hold their monthly meeting at the SAPS Sea Border Control station in Simon’s Town, Western Cape. This is the second visit undertaken by the DG’s of the JCPS cluster to a province.

Subsequent to the meeting the DG’s will brief the media on their meeting and visit areas that are relevant to the work of the cluster.
