President Cyril Ramaphosa marks 35th anniversary passing of President Samora Machel of Mozambique

His Excellency President Cyril Ramaphosa and His Excellency President Filipe Nyusi of the Republic of Mozambique will on Tuesday, 19 October 2021, participate in a commemorative event to mark the 35th anniversary of the passing of former President of the Republic of Mozambique, Samora Machel.

President Ramaphosa and President Nyusi are scheduled to speak at the occasion and lay wreaths.

Government mourns the passing of veteran journlist Val Boje

The Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) joins the media and communications sector in mourning the passing of veteran journalist, Ms Valerie Boje.  

According to the media statement issued by the National Press Club, Val passed away in the morning of Monday, 04 October 2021.

Government Communication and Information System initiates action on SIU Digital Vibe report

The Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) confirms that a Special Investigating Unit has made a finding against a GCIS staff member in the Digital Vibes matter. GCIS has set in motion a process to deal with the SIU findings.

This process will determine which cause of action will be taken against the official concerned. The process is guided by the Guide on Disciplinary and Incapacity Matters of the Department of Public Service and Administration.

Arrangements for the official funeral of the late Deputy Minister Hlengiwe Mkhize

The South Africa Government wishes to advise the nation on the arrangements for the Official Funeral of the late Prof Hlengiwe Mkhize who passed away on Thursday, 16 September 2021.  

At the time of her passing, Prof Mkhize was serving as the Deputy Minister in The Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities.

President Ramaphosa has accorded Prof Mkhize an Official Funeral Category 2 with police honours.
