The Minister in the Presidency responsible for Performance Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr Collins Chabane will lead a delegation of Ministers to Siyathemba, Balfour on Monday, 07th September 2009, as part of the follow up to the surprise visit undertaken by the President on 4 August 2009.

Members of the media are invited to the launch of the third edition of the Development Indicators (2009) published by The Presidency. The Minister for Planning in the Presidency, Mr Trevor Manuel, and Mr Joel Netshitenzhe will present the indicators followed by a brief commentary from a panel of experts.
The indicators provide a framework to present aggregate data on progress in human development since 1994. South Africa is one of a few countries in the world that regularly publishes these indicators.

Government will launch its nationwide interactive community radio programme to promote economic opportunities created by government on the 5th November 2009.
This radio programme will be on 65 of the country’s most popular community radio stations every Thursday between 18h00 to 19h00 until March 2010. Listeners will have an opportunity to speak directly with ministers from all participating departments

Government will embark on a week long public participation (Imbizo) drive from Monday, the 9th to Sunday, the 15th of November 2009. During this week and beyond Ministers will also be communicating progress on the implmentaion of the Programme of Action.
