Africa is due to receive the first delivery of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine tonight at the O R Tambo International Airport in Gauteng. The vaccine has been approved by South African Health Products Authority. The consignment will be moved to a secure facility in Gauteng before being distributed overnight to the various vaccine centres in all provinces.

Justice Mthiyane passed on Thursday, 28 January 2021. Following his passing, President Ramaphosa has honoured him by designating his funeral as a Special Official Funeral, Category 2.

Government informs South Africans and the world on the details of the funeral service for the late Minister in the Presidency, Jackson Mphikwa Mthembu.
Minister Mthembu passed away on Thursday, 21 January 2021, from COVID-related complications. President Ramaphosa announced that the Minister will be honoured with an Official Funeral Category 1.

The late Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mphikwa Mthembu will be honoured with an Official Funeral Category 1 at his home in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga, on Sunday 24 January 2021.
Minister Mthembu passed away on Thursday, 21 January 2021, from COVID-related complications.
The State, Official and Provincial Official Funeral Policy accords Official Funerals Category 1 to serving Ministers.

The management of departments and entities led by the late Minister in the Presidency, Jackson Mthembu will pay their respects through a drive-by visit to his family residence in Ackerville, Witbank today, Friday 22 January 2021 at 15h00.

It is with deep sorrow and shock that we announce that Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu passed away earlier today from COVID-related complications.

Minister Mthembu was an exemplary leader, an activist and life-long champion of freedom and democracy. He was a much-loved and greatly respected colleague and comrade, whose passing leaves our nation at a loss.
