Members of the media are advised that the post-Cabinet media briefing by Cabinet Spokesperson and GCIS CEO, Jimmy Manyi will be held on Friday, 4 May 2012 at 09h00 not 10h00 as announced earlier. The venue has also changed to Room 153, Union Buildings.
The Cabinet Spokesperson will be joined by the Minister of Sport and Recreation SA, Fikile Mbalula.

The Justice Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS) cluster will on Saturday, 28 April 2012, brief members of the media on the Special Remission of Sentences, following the announcement by President Jacob Zuma during the Freedom Day celebrations. The briefing will be chaired by Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Jeff Radebe.
The granting of remissions is to celebrate 16 years of the Constitution and 18 years of democracy on 27 April 2012 (Freedom Day).

Cabinet will set the national agenda at its annual January Lekgotla – the most important strategic planning session of the National Executive, at Bela Bela in Limpopo from Tuesday, 17 January to Friday, 20 January 2012.
The meeting, which will provide the basis for President Jacob Zuma’s State of the Nation Address on 9 February, will give direction to Government’s programme for 2012.

The Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Ms Lindiwe Sisulu, will create an opportunity for media to put questions to her about the involvement of members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) in the recent Operation Festive Season crime-fighting initiative.
Minister Sisulu is currently engaged in the Cabinet Lekgotla at Bela Bela and is aware that media have enquired about the role of the SANDF alongside the police in crime-fighting.
