Communications Deputy Minister to present a 20 Years of Freedom lecture at Falsebay College, Khayelitsha: 7 Nov

Deputy Minister of Communications, Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams will on Friday 07 November 2014 conduct a 20 Years of Freedom lecture at Falsebay College in Khayelitsha. The Deputy Minister’s day will commence with an anti-corruption activation at the Cape Town rail station and taxi rank.

On Monday, 3 November at 09:00am, Minister of Social Development, Bathabile Dlamini will brief the media during the launch of the National Disability Rights Awareness Month. The briefing will be held at Tshedimosetso House (DOC), Pretoria with a link up to Imbizo Media Centre, Cape Town.

Media statement in regard to the decision of the Western Cape High Court dated the 24 October 2014.

The decision of the Western Cape High court today, the 24th of October 2014, on the matter which was brought by the Democratic Alliance against the SABC and the Minister of Communications vindicated the position of the Minister to the effect that the Public Protector’s findings, remedial action and recommendations are not final and binding.

Update on preparations for repatriation of the mortal remains of South Africans from Nigeria

Members of the media and fellow South Africans.

It is over a month since the collapse of the building in Nigeria that left 116 people dead.  Amongst these eighty one (81) are believed to be South Africans and a total of 85 bodies to be repatriated (3 Zimbabwean & 1 DRC Nationals travelling with South African passports are included on the request by their respective governments).
