The Inter-Ministerial Committee met last week Friday, 29 June 2018 and we are delighted to share the upcoming activities and progress report on the implementation of the Comprehensive National Programme for the centenary of both of two of our struggle icons, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela under the theme: “Be the legacy”, as well as Mama Albertina Nontsikelelo Sisulu under the theme: “A Woman of fortitude.”

Cabinet calls on all South Africans to “Be the Legacy” as we approach Nelson Mandela International Day on 18 July 2018.  The United Nations (UN) adopted this day, which allows South Africans and the global community to honour our former President and an international icon, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.

Government mobilises men to join the 100 Men March to raise awareness on violence against women and children

Ladies and gentlemen;

We meet here today in order to brief you about the preparations of the Memorial and Official Funeral Services of the late Ambassador Billy Modise.

As you aware that the President, His Excellency, President Ramaphosa declared this a Special Official Funeral (category 1) for Ambassador Billy Modise. The preparations for the Memorial and Funeral are as follows:  

Government has scheduled the following briefings/activities for the week 25 June – 01 July 2018. The activities, which are aligned to the National Development Plan and outlined in the Medium Term Strategic Framework 2014-2019, are undertaken to build a better South Africa.
