Deputy Minister of Communications Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams will host an Imbizo in Limpopo on Friday, 25 September.  As part of continued efforts to engage with stakeholders in various provinces, the Deputy Minister will meet with communicators and media in Polokwane.

In partnership with Platco digital the Deputy Minister will also visit Ga Kibi Tribal Council where she will hand over Open View HD installations and host a Tell Your Story event whereby members of the community at Ga Kibi will tell their stories.

The SADC Secretariat in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Republic of South Africa in her capacity as the regional centre of excellence in Ebola laboratory diagnosis will conduct training on Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) preparedness activities and development of country preparedness plans for key personnel in areas such as   Laboratory, Port Health, and public health surveillance in SADC Member States.

On Monday, 22nd of September at 07:00, Inter Ministerial Task Team on Nigerian Tragedy will be receiving the injured South Africans at Swartkop Airforce base.  The chair of the Task Team, Minister Jeff Radebe with other members will address the media immediately thereafter.

We are aware that this is a difficult period of uncertainty for the nation, particularly for the families, friends and colleagues of those directly affected.

This statement serves as an update on the situation following the collapse of a building at the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Government has already announced, as instructed by President Zuma, that our disaster management processes and mechanisms have been activated; that an inter-departmental team has been put together and that the NATJOINTS has also been activated to provide technical assistance and support to the victims and their families.

The Minister of Communications, Ms Faith Muthambi will on Friday, 19 September 2014 officially close the Thusong Service Centre Week at Botshabelo Thusong Service Centre in Free State province.

The campaign ran from Monday, 15th and was launched by Minister Muthambi at the Mamelodi Thusong Service Centre. The objective was to heighten communication on the achievements of the Thusong Service Programme and it forms part of Public Service Month.
