Government is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Limpopo MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Ms Happy Joyce Mashamba.
The late MEC Mashamba held various portfolios in the Limpopo administration. She was the former MEC of Education, Safety, Security and Liaison; Sport, Arts and Culture, and Social Development in Limpopo. She was also a member of the Executive Committee on Social Development in the Limpopo Provincial Legislature. At the time of her passing, she was responsible for the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in the province, a position she held since February 2018.
The GCIS Acting Director-General Phumla Williams said: “The late MEC Mashamba served the people of Limpopo with ethical and accountable leadership. Government expresses its heartfelt condolence to the family, friends and relatives of the late MEC Mashamba, as well as the members of the Limpopo Provincial Legislature.”
