Government activities for the week, 28 Jan to 3 Feb

Government has scheduled the following briefings/activities for the week: 28 January – 03 February 2019. The activities, which are aligned to the National Development Plan and outlined in the Medium Term Strategic Framework 2014-2019, are undertaken to build a better South Africa.

Minister of Home Affair, Dr Siyabonga Cwele, will meet with his Lesotho counterpart, Minister Tsukutla Au, at Maseru bridge port of entry to discuss matters related to Maseru bridge and other immigration issues. The meeting is scheduled for Monday 28 January, from 09h00 to 10h45. As part of the visit, the two Ministers will undertake a walkabout at the Maseru bridge operational area where they will interact with officials and travellers, from 10h45 to 11h30. The walkabout will be followed by a media briefing at 11h40.

On Tuesday, 29 January, the Independent Electoral Commission will hold a media briefing of the outcome of final registration weekend for 2019 National and Provincial Elections. The briefing will be held at the Imbizo Media Center – Parliament at 10h00, with a video link to GCIS, Tshedimosetso House in Pretoria.

From 30 - 31 January, Cabinet will hold its Lekgotla at Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guesthouse in Pretoria. Members of the media are invited for a photo opportunity and engagement with the Minister of Communications, Ms Stella Ndabeni- Abrahams.
