Government activities for the week, 1 to 7 Apr

From 1 – 2 April, the Minister of Communications, Ms Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, will lead a DTT, Cyber Security Awareness and Good Green Deeds clean-up campaign in Mthatha, Eastern Cape.

Chief Electoral Officer, Mr Sy Mamabolo will on Monday, 1 April, formally launch an innovative online reporting platform for citizens to report instances of alleged digital disinformation. The launch will take place at the Election House, Riverside Office Park in Centurion at 12h00.

The Deputy Minister of Human Settlements, Ms Zou Kota-Fredericks and Eastern Cape MEC for Human Settlements, Mr Babalo Madikizela, will on Tuesday, 2 April hand over houses in Walmer in Port Elizabeth at 09h00. The Ministers will also officially launch the Walmer Enhanced People’s Housing Project, also known as Umzi wase Gqebera and will be preceded by a massive clean-up campaign in the area on Monday the 1st of April 2019. Deputy Minister Kota-Fredericks will lead the clean-up campaign supported by the members of the greater Walmer community, the Department of Environmental Affairs as well as members of local and provincial government.

On Wednesday, 3 April at 13:00, the Minister of Transport, Blade Nzimande will brief the media on the developments at PRASA since his meeting with President Cyril Ramaphosa. The briefing will be held at Tshedimosetso House (GCIS), Pretoria with a link up to the Imbizo Media Centre, Cape Town.

The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Dr Zweli Mkhize will on Friday, 05 April, visit Mbhashe Municipality in the Eastern Cape to handover a R10 million Mpame bridge to communities.

On Friday, 5 April, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ms Elizabeth Thabethe, will host a certification ceremony in Hibberdene in KwaZulu-Natal for learners that completed the Department of Tourism's 28 month long Blue Flag Programme.
