Launch of 2010 South African Chapter of SADC Media Awards Competition: 28 January

Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) will launch the South African chapter of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Media Awards Competition.

The 2010 theme for the awards is, “Promoting Regional Integration through Excellent Journalism”. The categories for the awards are Print, Radio, Television and Photojournalism

The details are as follows:

Time: 18h00

Venue: to be confirmed

The South African chapter of the awards competition was launched during November 2003 and GCIS is the contact point for South African media and the SADC Secretariat.

South African journalists have previously been named as winners of the television category in 2006 and the radio category in 2006 and 2009.

It is anticipated that the 2010 SADC media awards will take place in June 2010
