10 November 2014
Government wishes to advise members of the media about planned media briefings scheduled for the week of 10– 16 November 2014.
On Monday, 10 November at 15:30, Minister of Environmental Affairs, Edna Molewa will brief the media during the opening of the 2014 National Climate Change Dialogue and present key milestones of South Africa's journey and responses towards a lower carbon and climate-resilient economy over the last decade. The four-day Dialogue is hosted by the Department of Environmental Affairs in collaboration with the Inter-Governmental Committee on Climate Change (IGCCC), and provides an opportunity to reflect on the achievements since 2011, when the Durban United Nations 17th Conference of the Parties (COP 17) was held and the Durban Platform was agreed upon. The media briefing will be held at Gallagher Convention Centre, 19 Richard Drive, Midrand, Johannesburg.
Additional to these media briefings there are a number of public events that will be attended by the various Ministers. The details of the events are posted on the respective government websites.
All members of the media are advised that the media briefings are subject to change. However, the Department of Communications (DOC) will continue to update the media through its advisories.
