Donald Liphoko is a former vice-chairman of the SA Advertising Research Foundation and a founding councillor of the Marketing Excellence Awards Council. He has previously judged the prestigious Financial Mail AdFocus Advertising Awards and the Roger Garlick Awards which recognise excellence in advertising and marketing leadership. Liphoko was also a judge for the MTN Radio Awards 2010.
Donald was formerly strategic planning manager for commercial airtime sales at the South African Broadcasting Corporation. He co-authored the South African TV Guide for Marketers, and worked with blue-chip brands in several industries.
His decade-long media agency experience includes stints at The MediaShop, MindShare, FCB, and Sonnenberg Murphy Leo Burnett. He has written extensively about the local advertising industry, focusing on media strategy, and serves on the Vega, The School of Brand Leadership regional advisory council.
