Public Sector Manager magazine


The Public Sector Manager communicates with a strategic component of government’s target audiences – senior public sector managers. The magazine aims to help public sector/government managers and their departments/agencies to improve the quality of the services they provide by reporting on management innovations and best practices within the public sector.

 

 

July 2014: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. The world celebrates International Mandela Day on 18 July.  This month’s issue focuses on Mandela Month with the theme “Clean SA in honour of Madiba”.

June 2014: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. This month's edition focuses on the Presidential Inauguration and Youth Month.

May 2014: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. This month's edition focuses on the digital migration and securing South Africa intelligently.

April 2014: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. This month's edition focuses on the 20-year success story of South Africa.

March 2014: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. This month's edition unpacks the State of the Nation Address by President Jacob Zuma and gives emphasizes that South Africa has a good story to tell for this 20 years of democracy.

February 2014: The complete magazine is available in a digistised format.  This month leading feature unpacks the 20 years of freedom narrative in the context of elections as the country gears up to hold its fourth democratic election. 

January 2014: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. This month’s edition focuses on fighting crime and the unveiling of the Nelson Mandela statue at the Union Buildings.

December 2013: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. This edition pays tribute to former President Nelson Mandela who passed away on 5 December 2013. Aptly dubbed father of South Africa's democracy, Former President Mandela was the first democratically elected President of the country and brought about a racial paradigm shift in ushering a democratic South Africa.

November 2013: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. This edition focuses on Deputy Minister Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu champion of people with disabilities.

October 2013: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. October is Transport Month and we take a look at the achievements since 1994 as part of the celebrations of 20 years of Freedom. Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini visits communities to learn about their social challenges.

September 2013: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. This month's edition celebrates Heritage and Tourism Month.  It also focuses on the 20 years of Freedom and  takes a look at the FIFA World Cup legacy since 2010.

August 2013: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. This month’s edition focuses on Women’s Month and the roles that women play in Education, Health, Science and Gender mainstreaming.

July 2013: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. This month's edition focuses on Mandela Day activities, South Africa as a science hub and big plans for wiping out homelessness in our country.

June 2013: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. This edition of the PSM focuses on young leaders in South Africa with the likes of the Deputy Minister of Basic Education Mduduzi Manana and the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) CEO Steve Ngubeni and how they put the youth first in their respective jobs.

May 2013: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. This edition of the PSM provides a narrative of South Africa’s journey from being a parochial, paranoid nation of the apartheid era, to becoming a bold global player, eager to compete with the best.

April 2013: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. The cover features MEC Zoleka Capa as she explains how her department is developing rural communities in the Eastern Cape.

March 2013: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. The cover features South African Post Office Managing Director Molefe Mathibe who talks about diversification.

February 2013: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. The cover features Home Affairs Director-General Mkuseli Apleni who talks about the transformation in his department.

January 2013: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. The cover features Brand SA CEO Miller Matola who talks about building the brand South Africa.

December 2012: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. In this issue, Minister of Health Aaron Motsoaledi talks about progress with the NHI. The cover features Minister of Communications Dina Pule.

November 2012: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. The cover features Dr Terrence Kommal who talks about the military health sector.

October 2012: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. In this issue, we bid farewell to Dr Dlamini Zuma looking at her legacy in government and vision for Africa. The cover features Clifford Motsepe MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs in Limpopo.

September 2012: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. In this issue, Minister of Arts and Culture Paul Mashatile talks about constructing a South African national identity in celebration of Heritage Month. The edition contains a feature article on raising awareness of disability in the public service. Our cover star, Minister of Water and Environmental Affair, Edna Molewa, talks about going green and green economy benefits.

August 2012: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. The issue features three deputy ministers on the cover who share insights on their portfolios and initiatives close to their hearts. We speak to the first female Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Minister Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma. The issue also features Women in the Public Sector as we celebrate their strides in their chosen fields. We also take an aerial view of the true value of Mandela Day especially for public servants.

July 2012: In this issue, the magazine speaks to the Government Employees Pension Fund's Acting Principal Officer and Head of Investment and Actuarial, Mr John Oliphant, to find out what exactly their investment in South African National Road Agency Limited (Sanral) means for the fund they manage on behalf of public servangts.  Also, we look at the meaning of South Africa winning the rights to host the Square Kilometre Array.

June 2012: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. In this issue, SARS Commissioner Oupa Magashule covers the business of SARS in great detail. Zooming in on youth month, we cast focus on youth leaders who empower the country's youth. Minister of Transport Sbu Ndebele shares his vision for South African transport system and we reflect on South Africa winning the rights to co-host the Square Kilometre Array.

May 2012: The complete magazine is available in a digitised format. The issue features Gauteng Primier Nomvula Mokonyane on the cover, reflects on Freedom Day and takes a look at the recipients of National Orders, among other features.
