Minister of Communications Minister Ms Faith Muthambi will make an official visit to Davos, Switzerland for three days to attend the 2016 World Communication Forum (WCF). The forum is scheduled from the 7th to 10th March 2016.

Minister Muthambi will be one of the panellists speaking about the role of the public media service and challenges of the digital arena in government and communications.

The purpose of the forum is to unite trend makers and influencers from the global communications elite and provide a platform for discussion focused on the future development of communication and its role.

“Developmental communications is key in emerging countries as it amplifies the voices of ordinary citizens. It is therefore imperative that we amplified that voice,” said Muthambi.

Minister Muthambi will be accompanied by senior officials from Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) and the public broadcaster, the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).
