Requirements
- Qualifications:
- An appropriate 3 year degree or equivalent qualification in Public Management/Administration/Logistics Management/Public Finance and Accounting or Purchasing Management.
- Skills:
- Excellent writing and communication skills and ability to manage and plan, as well as advanced computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint and Ms Outlook).
- Supervisory skills.
- Excellent coordination skills.
- Competencies:
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation and policies (PFMA, Preferential Procurement Regulations, BBBEE, Treasury regulations, Contracts, etc.).
- Ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and be able to work under pressure.
- The incumbent should be self-driven, creative, innovative, flexible and highly motivated.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Client service orientated.
- Job knowledge:
- Excellent knowledge of BAS, LOGIS and LOGIS Integration as well as proven experience in supply chain management environment.
- Asset Management through LOGIS.
- Report writing, compilation and collation of information from directorates.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft packages, i.e. MS word, Ms Excel, PowerPoint as well as Ms Outlook.
Duties:
- The successful candidate will perform the following duties; daily monitoring and controlling of all matters related to the component.
- Serve as entry point for payment section.
- Authorizing of entities and payments on the system.
- Reconciliation of statements and payments.
- Show initiative and close attention to detail.
- Monitoring and updating of 0-9 file and age analysis.
- Maintaining a reliable database.
- Manage expenditure control.
- Compile quarterly reports on expenditure with respect to BBBEE.
- Compile accurate work statistics and maintenance thereof within the component.
- Supervise receiving and issuing unit, help desk and payment section.
- Provide functional training to subordinates.
- Compile supervisory reports on subordinates.
- Compile status reports on the performance of the relevant sections being supervised.
- Respond to enquiries and queries.
- Assist in annual stock count.
- Provide general office support.

Duties:
- The successful candidate will perform the following duties.
- Conduct information searches, reference and research services in the library.
- Provide general information services and support to Knowledge Management.
- Classification and cataloguing of new material.
- Assist with training of clients in the use of library databases.
- Marketing of library services to all GCIS users.
- Maintaining the library collection.
- Handle stocktaking and procurement of the library collection.
- Shelving and shelf-reading of library collection.
- Facilitate inter-library loans.
- Administration of journals and newspapers.
- Assistance to regional offices.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
