The aim of Finance,
Supply Chain Management and Auxiliary Services is to provide financial, supply chain management and auxiliary
services to the department. Finance,
Supply Chain Management and Auxiliary Services is responsible
for overseeing the implementation of the Public
Finance Management Act, 1999

Procurement Policy Framework Act, 2000
PDF (outside link), the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act, 1993 PDF (outside link), and Management Information Security Standards (MISS).
Functions of CFO are:
- Provides overall financial management
- Assists and guides Top Management (GCIS Exco) on issues such as:
- Budget planning and management
- Financial management and administration
- Provisioning and procurement (supply chain management, contracts)
- Auxiliary services, including security

- Provide guidance in line with the national framework

- Management of the commitment file

- Control of incoming and outgoing mail and parcels
- Administer the photocopy lease contracts and the expenditure of photocopies made
- Provide messenger services
- Cleaning
:
- Administer service-level agreement of the private cleaning company
- Provide hygiene services
- Catering:
- Provide catering services to staff meetings/workshops
- Maintenance:
- Report major maintenance services to the landlord and attend to minor
repairs
- Monitor the loading and off-loading of goods
- Security:
- Provide physical security services and monitor access control in the
premises
- Monitor the operation of security systems
- Occupation Health and Safety (OHS) services:
- Monitor the implementation of OHS Act Policy requirements
- Property management:
- Ensure that suitable accommodation is provided to GCIS
- Participate in the procurement of office space for GCIS.
